OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Engineer will be integral in building local relationships and closing new business. You will work on exciting projects such as high impact (ie. artificial sports fields) and have the freedom to help develop your ideas for new products based on our portfolio of recycled material products and solutions.

Job Location:
Toronto, ON and Vancouver, B.C. In office position with the potential to travel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and manage relationships with all key contacts in regions, including but not limited to, engineers, architects, acoustical consultants, developers, and contractors.
  • Manage all aspects of major projects in the region that require acoustical design solutions and/or that use Pliteq and competitors' products in commercial and other building types
  • Participate in developing and strive to overachieve your OKRs
  • Explore and close new business opportunities by developing project-specific strategies that incorporate Pliteq products, communicating project-specific strategies with key contacts, and communicating responses to objections.
  • Contribute creatively to new product development as well as any other area of the business
  • Provide oversight and analysis of the day-to-day sales, margin, and customer relationship management for your region
  • Be a role model for the team in actions, communication, and results
  • Penetrate and understand your region deeply and customers personally where it can profitably achieve dominant market share
  • Schedule regular customer facing (in person when applicable, virtual, or whatever creative means you can come up with) within your region in order to increase Pliteq's market share and maintain solid partnerships
  • Ensure regional models are tailored to maintain a competitive advantage across markets and channels and tied to overall functional unit and Pliteq's strategy
  • Become a trusted advisor and resource to the construction community
  • Possible travel in the future as necessary
  • Other duties as desired or needed per operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

You have a bachelor's degree in Engineering and in your 3+ years of business experience, you have shown rapid career progress. You have the drive to push toward goals and tackle demanding tasks. You seize opportunities and know how to prioritize your time while taking responsibility for your actions. You are accountable to your objectives and key results, and you enjoy meeting new people and networking with individuals within our industry and our core values and our purpose for being resonates with you.
