Administrative Assistant I

Reporting to the Commander of Community Programs, the Administrative Assistant I is critical to the effective functioning of the RCVTAC team that is a 24/7 operation.
This position requires excellent clerical and administrative skills, an ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and strong interpersonal skills to work with members of the public.
This is a casual opportunity offering 1 day a week to start at the assessment centers. The hours will gradually increase to include evenings and weekends while remaining a casual employee.
This is a contract until March 31, 2026 with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Manage inbound customer service calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Greet and welcome customers and assist with inquiries.
- Efficiently respond to patient questions and requests for information.
- Schedule patient appointments in an Electronic Medical Record.
- Create new patient charts in an Electronic Medical Record.
- Data Entry in an Electronic Medical Record.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education and/or relevant education and experience in a related field such as business administration.
- Detailed knowledge in computer applications: MS Office, email, Internet Research and medical software.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting and medical receptionist would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Capacity to adapt quickly to a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
- Flexibility to work days and evenings and weekends.
Job Types: Fixed term contract, Casual
Contract length: 4 months
Pay: $26.51-$29.84 per hour
Expected hours: 7 per week
