Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Category Management

  • Provide oversight and policy direction for procurement activities, including contract management, tendering, ordering, receiving, and distribution of goods and services using best-practice approaches
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing and category management plans to continuously improve procurement operations
  • Assess existing procurement structures, systems, policies, and processes; recommend and implement enhancements to improve efficiency, controls, and outcomes
  • Establish performance metrics and KPIs (e.g., cost savings, supplier performance, efficiency gains, rebate programs, and contract compliance)
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies, objectives, priorities, and communication plans to support stakeholders' access to required goods and services
  • Monitor external market trends and identify opportunities to adopt industry best practices

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Lead supplier engagement and negotiations with vendors providing materials, products, equipment, and services
  • Oversee competitive sourcing and solicitation processes, including requirements development and contract negotiations
  • Design and implement preferred vendor strategies where appropriate
  • Partner with Finance and Accounts Payable to analyze invoice volumes, processing timelines, and payment performance
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers, summarizing contract performance, risks, opportunities, and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Support vendor onboarding, renewals, issue resolution, and ongoing relationship management
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships between internal stakeholders and external suppliers

Compliance, Reporting & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, internal controls, and governance standards
  • Oversee risk identification, assessment, and audit activities related to procurement operations
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready procurement documentation and contract records
  • Track contract renewals, pricing changes, and supplier updates, communicating impacts to stakeholders and leadership
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activity, supplier performance, inventory trends, and cost management

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and significant experience in senior-level procurement or supply chain leadership
  • Professional supply chain designation (e.g., SCMP, CSCP, or equivalent)
  • Experience developing and executing procurement strategies within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong background in contract negotiation, sourcing, and vendor management
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within asset-intensive or service-driven industries
  • Experience working with procurement and financial systems
  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills, including strong proficiency with large datasets
  • Project management experience or certification
