Bring your talents to a new streamlined energy company, dedicated to operational, commercial and safety excellence as we pursue our critical purpose of delivering the energy people need.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Hydraulics and Capacity Engineer or Technologist to support operational capacity management for South Bow's crude oil pipelines. This role requires an advanced ability to collaborate with and influence decisions with multiple stakeholders including scheduling, control center, work management, field operations, asset management, SCADA, and engineering teams. The successful candidate will manage the monthly capacity of South Bow's assets while minimizing operating costs.

What You'll Do

  • Review hydraulic bottlenecks and adjustment of the DRA injection coefficients
  • Set daily flow rate targets and update throughout the month based on operational and market conditions
  • Complete hydraulic analysis for both scheduled maintenance and unscheduled outages to quantify the capacity impact and the cost of mitigation with DRA; make decisions on the path forward by collaborating with internal stakeholders
  • Participate in evaluating risk/costs/benefits of taking an unplanned capacity impact
  • Assist with monitoring temperature limits on the system to manage stress
  • Provide oversight of DRA deliveries to the field

Outage Management and Optimization

  • Key stakeholder during planned pipeline outages – point of contact for coordination with LPCC and Field Operations
  • Coordinate the batch requirements and bypass schedules for tool runs with Oil Scheduling
  • Review outage plans provided by the Liquids Work Management Team to evaluate opportunities for optimization
  • Review and approve Operational Notifications (ON) for outages on the system – communicate requirements to LPCC utilizing the Daily Operations Plan (DOP)

Capacity Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing monthly available capacity forecasting for the Commercial team before Nominations
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of the monthly updates to the one-year forecast
  • Assist in the preparation of the commercial capacity forecast (2-3 year look ahead) during budgetary cycles and variable toll preparation
  • Prepare reporting on system performance metrics as required

Minimum Qualifications
