Junior Instrumentation Engineering Technologist
Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a well-established, privately-owned engineering firm providing EPCM services to the energy industry, including project management, engineering, drafting and design, procurement, construction management and regulatory services.
We are currently seeking a Junior Instrumentation Engineering Technologist to work on a variety of challenging and innovative projects in natural gas, oil, fractionation, carbon sequestration, hydrogen generation, power generation and transmission projects.
As a member of our instrumentation engineering team your responsibilities, will include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in delivering quality instrumentation and controls design and packages as part of an instrumentation team and independently dealing with clients and other multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Review process flow diagrams, P&ID's, control narratives, and shutdown keys.
- Develop instrument indexes, datasheets and drawings.
- Assist in specifying, sizing, evaluating, and purchasing of instrumentation for processing equipment and completing the instrumentation design.
- Provide great value to our customers through technically strong and efficient work.
- Attend and provide input in client and stakeholder meetings.
- Support the growth of the Instrumentation department through standards and templates review and development.
Requirements
- Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology, or similar, from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- 1+ years' experience with energy projects in Canada.
- Prior experience in oil and gas or process facilities is considered an asset.
- An understanding of project change management, project procurement systems and procedures.
- Strong analytical and engineering problem solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and technical skills.
- Ability to work directly with client office and field personnel in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
- Occasional travel to facilities may be required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
