Schedule: Fridays & Saturdays 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM + occasional special events

Type: Part-Time, On-Call for Events

Compensation: Minimum wage + tips

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Bartender to join our small, passionate team.

This role is perfect for someone who loves creating a warm guest experience, enjoys working in an intimate, creative café-bar setting, and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves at closing time.

You'll prepare and serve drinks — including spirits, wine, beer, café-signature cocktails, and coffee-based drinks — offer Mediterranean-inspired snaks, cheese, or nuts plates to customers, and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming space.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Service

  • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, coffee-based drinks, and specialty items
  • Operate POS and handle cash/card transactions accurately
  • Engage with customers, recommend drinks, answer questions, and create memorable experiences
  • Maintain knowledge of classic cocktails and beverage trends (and help us discover new ones)
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and responsible beverage service regulations (age verification, monitoring guest consumption..)

Food Service

  • Prepare and serve already-prepared Mediterranean-inspired snacks, cheese, and nut plates
  • Present and pair items beautifully in line with Café Miracle's aesthetic

Cleaning & Organization

  • Closing duties (end-of-shift cleaning and organization)
  • Clean surfaces, tools, tables, and floors regularly
  • Support restocking, labeling, and inventory tasks
  • Take out garbage and recycling to outdoor bins
  • Clean restroom and maintain hygiene standards throughout service

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the café and kitchen team to support special events and workshops (in our COSMOS Room)
  • Contribute to a mindful, quality-driven, and collaborative environment

Requirements

  • Valid Smart Serve certification (required)
  • Proven experience (at least 2 years) as a bartender or in a similar hospitality role
  • Friendly, professional demeanour and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage closing/cleaning duties carefully and thoroughly
  • Comfortable handling light food service (cheese, nuts, small plates)
  • Reliable, tidy, and organized — able to multitask while maintaining service quality
  • Comfortable working under pressure and standing for extended periods
  • Must be available Friday and Saturday evenings and occasional event nights
