Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated part-time
Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
to help build, secure, and maintain a next-generation AI and data platform. You will work directly with our senior architect to deploy core Azure services, manage network security, and ensure our application environments are scalable and cost-effective.

This is an ideal role for someone with a strong grasp of Azure fundamentals who wants to gain hands-on experience with advanced technologies like
Azure Container Apps
,
Vector Databases (Zilliz)
, and
Just-In-Time (JIT) security
.


Key Responsibilities

1. Identity & Security Management

* Assist in setting up
Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)
PIM roles to ensure Just-In-Time access.

* Configure
Azure Key Vault
policies, including secret storage and RBAC management.

* Support the integration of GitHub Actions using
OIDC Federation
for secure CI/CD pipelines.

2. Network & Connectivity

* Help maintain a
Hub-and-Spoke VNet
architecture.

* Deploy and test
Private Endpoints
for various services (Key Vault, Container Apps, etc.) to ensure traffic stays off the public internet.

* Configure
Azure Firewall
rules and
Azure Front Door/WAF
policies to protect public-facing APIs.

3. Application & Orchestration Support

* Deploy and monitor containers within
Azure Container Apps (ACA)
environments for our Chat Orchestrators and Gateways.

* Configure messaging services, including
Azure Service Bus
queues and
Event Grid
triggers.

* Assist in the setup of **n8n** workflow automation hosted on ACA.

4. Data & Observability

* Manage basic storage tasks in
Azure Blob Storage
and metadata tables in
Supabase
.

* Monitor system health using
Azure Monitor
and
App Insights
.

* Maintain
SLO Dashboards
to track latency, error rates, and cloud spend.

5. Modern Workplace Testing

* Configure and test
Windows 365 (Cloud PC)
environments to simulate customer experiences.

* Use
Microsoft Intune
to apply basic security postures to virtual testing environments.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

Certifications:
AZ-900 (Fundamentals) and AZ-104 (Administrator) is a significant plus.

*
Cloud Basics:
Familiarity with Azure Portal, Resource Groups, and the concept of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

*
Networking:
Basic understanding of IP addressing, Subnets, and Firewalls.

*
Scripting:
Basic proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.

*
Mindset:
A "security-first" approach and a high level of attention to detail regarding cost management (tagging and budgets).


Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

Ninja Superpowers:
Familiarity with using Claude Code for scripting.

IDE:
VSCode or Windsurf

*
