Role Description

We are seeking a
Director of Sales & Marketing
to provide strategic leadership while maintaining a hands-on, relationship-driven approach to growing revenue and strengthening the hotel's market presence as well as that of its award-winning food & beverage outlets. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that drive performance across all segments, while remaining true to the character and values of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales & Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that support occupancy, ADR, food & beverage revenues, and overall profitability.
  • Lead annual sales planning, budgeting, and performance tracking aligned with hotel objectives.
  • Analyze market conditions, competitive trends, and demand patterns to identify opportunities and guide decision-making.

Sales & Business Development

  • Lead, coach, and work alongside our small sales team to achieve revenue goals & build client relationships.
  • Assist in timely response to all sales, events and marketing inquiries.
  • Attend and represent the property during key site inspections, familiarization tours, and other client related events.
  • Personally manage key accounts and strategic connections, with a focus on long-term partnerships.
  • Drive new business across corporate, leisure, group, SMERF, and special interest segments.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, proposals, and RFP responses.

Marketing, Brand & Storytelling

  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communication Lead on all marketing initiatives including digital marketing, website content, social media, advertising, promotions, and public relations.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning that reflects Chateau Victoria's quality, personality, and guest experience.
  • Work with external contractors and partners as needed.

Revenue & Performance Optimization

  • Partner closely with Revenue Management & Marketing Lead to align sales & marketing efforts with pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies.
  • Prepare regular performance updates and strategic recommendations.

Community & Industry Engagement

  • Represent Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites within the local community and hospitality industry.
  • Build strong relationships with tourism partners, destination organizations, and local businesses.
  • Participate in trade shows, sales missions, and industry events as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • 5–7 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership experience
    in hospitality, preferably within a full-service or boutique hotel.
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth and brand recognition in competitive markets.
  • Strong understanding of hotel sales segments, revenue management and distribution channels.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, PMS platforms, and sales analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
