Description

There's no pledge more important than the one we make to look after our environment, and we're committed to helping you do exactly that.

Join us as we strive to ensure a sustainable future for our communities and the world we live in. Become part of our global network of skilled engineers, scientists, auditors, planners and environmental specialists, all working together to leave this world better than we found it.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Air Quality Engineer to join our Western Canada Air, Noise, and Compliance Team based out of our Edmonton, Calgary or Vancouver office.

Our vision is to ensure energy, water and urbanization are made sustainable for generations to come. You can lead the way into a new future for our industry, inspiring the next generation of driven and committed people in the process.  Come research, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.

We're seeking the curious, those who are stimulated by fresh thinking and a desire to shape our communities in new, positive ways. As part of a truly global team, working on complex and rewarding projects, you'll be at the forefront of driving change.

See what the power of commitment can do for you.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Supporting the growth of our Air, Noise, and Compliance business in Western Canada.
  • Assisting with client management, project delivery, and business pursuits, including air quality compliance reporting, air quality impact assessments for environmental approvals, and complex air quality modelling and monitoring projects.
  • Managing Air, Noise, and Compliance projects for both existing and new clients across Western Canada. Collaborating with junior, intermediate, and senior staff on all aspects of project work, while providing mentorship to junior and intermediate team members.
  • Reviewing, interpreting, and applying relevant provincial and federal acts and regulations.
  • Partnering with GHD's North American Air, Noise, and Compliance team—which includes over 80 engineers and scientists—on projects related to air quality, climate change, and regulatory compliance.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, along with a P.Eng. designation in Alberta or BC.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience within a consulting environment and with project experience in Alberta or British Columbia.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with ambient air quality monitoring methods, regulatory frameworks, and atmospheric dispersion modelling (AERMOD and CALPUFF).
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in business development, including leveraging professional networks to secure new work.
  • Familiarity with air quality and climate change regulations in Alberta, and/or British Columbia.

Salary Range: $107,000 - $140,000 based on experience.
