Responsibilities
Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
Professionalism in customer service
Load and unload goods from locations including tight construction locations
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform emergency roadside repairs
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Credentials: AZ class license
Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports, Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports
Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer, Live Bottom Trailer
Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Transportation/travel experience: Local (Construction sites), Long-haul, Short-haul
