Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency, ensuring all dishes meet our high standards.
  • Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary trends and guest preferences.
  • Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to health regulations.
  • Support food preparation activities such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment regularly.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service during busy hours, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
  • Contribute to catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food with precision and care.
  • Demonstrate excellent knife skills and cooking techniques to produce high-quality dishes consistently.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying management when stock levels need replenishing.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
  • Exposure to fine dining settings or culinary arts programs is a plus, showcasing your dedication to quality cuisine.
  • Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience can enhance your ability to accommodate special dietary needs safely.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including proper food handling practices and sanitation procedures.
  • Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, catering, or serving will help you excel in this role.
  • Proven kitchen experience demonstrating proficiency with cooking techniques, knife skills, and food industry best practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and delivering excellent customer service.
