Tactical Security Guard

Wage: $21.00/hour

Shift Timings:

  • 07:00 – 14:30
  • 14:30 – 23:00
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a professional and reasonable manner
  • Utilize tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment while on duty
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive
  • Maintain and enforce access control procedures
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of emergency response and standard operating procedures
  • Address trespassers and unauthorized persons in a fair, calm, and safe manner
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property on foot
  • Monitor CCTV surveillance systems
  • Investigate incidents, occurrences, and suspicious activities
  • Prepare detailed incident and occurrence reports and maintain accurate memo book entries
  • Maintain the safety, security, and peace of patrons, staff, and clients
  • De-escalate conflict, emergency, and crisis situations
  • Assist emergency responders and law enforcement personnel as required
  • Perform access control, line management, and customer service duties
  • Support daily security and site operations as directed
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 6 months of prior security experience required
  • Experience in Retail Security or Loss Prevention is considered a strong asset
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and reliability
  • Proactive approach to on-site situations and potential risks
  • Ability to retain and follow instructions provided by management
  • Capable of handling high-stress situations and making sound decisions under pressure
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, busy, and highly populated retail environment
  • High attention to detail and strong observational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback
  • First Aid Level 1 is an asset but not mandatory
