About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Brand + Marketing, this role supports the day-to-day digital advertising functions within the Marketing department. You will be responsible for developing, executing, and measuring digital advertising strategies and tactics that promote Kamloops as a desirable travel destination across owned, earned, and paid media channels. The Digital Ads Specialist will also collaborate closely with the Director, Brand + Marketing to define and implement Tourism Kamloops' overall digital advertising plan. You will ensure all consumer-facing communications maintain brand integrity. In addition to being highly organized and collaborative, you take initiative and can confidently support and drive digital advertising initiatives that align with the organization's five-year strategic plan.

What You'll Get Up To:


• Plan and optimize paid digital campaigns across Google, Meta, TikTok, and YouTube to showcase Kamloops as a must-visit destination.


• Track and analyze performance data to uncover insights and level-up future campaigns.


• Manage the digital advertising budget and spot opportunities for smarter spending and partner collaboration.


• Work with internal teams and external partners to bring campaigns, content, and events to life—on time and on brand.


• Create and refine engaging content for ads, emails, blogs, social channels, and website updates.


• Lead ongoing website management, from updates and UX improvements to landing page builds.


• Drive website performance through SEO, analytics, and conversion optimization.


• Oversee digital tools like e-commerce features, chatbot functionality, and plug-ins.


• Support photo and video shoots, including strategy, creative briefs, outreach, and logistics.


• Team up with marketing and web teams to enhance the site and improve campaign results.


• Stay on top of digital trends and test new ideas to keep our campaigns fresh and effective.

What you bring:


• Hands-on experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, YouTube Ads, Canva, Adobe Suite, WordPress, ProcessWire, CrowdRiff, Slack, Asana, and more.


• A data-driven mindset with the ability to turn insights into smart, strategic decisions.


• Strong communication skills and a knack for collaborating with teams, partners, and stakeholders.


• Creative problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments.


• Highly organized multitasker who can juggle deadlines and keep projects moving.


• Flexible, friendly, and professional—comfortable working independently or as part of a small, dynamic team.


• 3+ years of marketing experience, especially in digital advertising, content marketing, social media, CRM/CMS, and analytics.


• A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Tourism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
