Responsibilities

  • Assist Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and fellow Sous Chefs in the supervision of all culinary & stewarding associates
  • Train, and monitor performance of associates. Continuously strive for an engaged, enthusiastic high performing team
  • Contribute to menu planning, balancing creativity and guest requests, while ensuring leading presentation and food quality
  • Preparation and production of menu items for catering and restaurant
  • Develop close and effective working relationships within Culinary/Stewarding and cross-functional relations with all departments, particularly Food & Beverage and Sales
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by actively seeking feedback from associates and guests, following-up and taking action if needed
  • Understanding of Marriott Brand Standards
  • Stay current on industry/competitive trends and strategies for improvement to maximize Food & Beverage revenue
  • Models and maintains Health and Safety practices
  • Provide support for culinary team effectively communicate and conduct shift briefings
  • Collaborate and provide support on social media initiatives including online reputation management (TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.), content creation and social customer service
  • Report any deficiencies in equipment or small wares to the Executive Chef or Exec. Sous Chef
  • When available, participate in weekly internal meetings with Culinary and F&B management
  • All other tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef

Requirements

  • 3+ years cooking experience in a growth capacity preferred
  • Red Seal certificate, Certificate of apprenticeship or equivalent preferred
  • Flexible availability required; ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and stat holidays as needed
  • A leader, with strong initiative and interpersonal skills, willingness to mentor, guide and teach as needed.
  • Banquet and large volume production experience an asset
  • Strong line cooking experience required

Pay: $69,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
