Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the designated work site at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular work schedule at their own expense.

*The role*
We are looking for two (2) Planning & Policy Analysts to support the Director of Investment Policy, Strategy, and Reporting in the Office of Facilities Renewal Management (OFRM). The Planning & Policy Analyst would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

The successful applicants will provide general support on projects such as:

  • Preparing analysis and presentations for senior executives;
  • Assisting with NRC investment planning activities;
  • Supporting processes to identify and select capital investment projects for funding; and
  • Working with, and providing advice to, NRC researchers in the preparation of capital project proposals.

The incumbents will be expected to establish strong intra-NRC networks in order to build necessary partnerships in the development and advancement of OFRMs work. They will also coordinate the development of Treasury Board documents and liaise with officials from Treasury Board Secretariat.

*Education*
Bachelor's degree in social sciences, sciences, engineering, business/public administration, law or in another field relevant to the position.

A graduate degree would be considered an asset.

Experience

  • Experience serving a number of internal and external clients and interacting with multiple stakeholders from government;
  • Experience in research such as: environmental scanning, analysis, preparation and presentation of detailed reports and briefing notes on issues related to innovation, government science and technology policy, and their relevance/implication for NRC;
  • Experience in developing and maintaining a network of contacts;
  • Experience in corporate level planning, business and/or policy development, strategy, governance and/or reporting in a government or business environment.

Compensation

with a salary range of
$74,230

.

Note:
Please note that the full RO/RCO salary scale has five levels. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate's expertise, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As such, the initial salary could be within another level of the RO/RCO salary scale (i.e. above or
below
the intended level for this position).
