Unio Tech Solutions offers a full range of IT services and special projects for medium and large sized companies throughout Canada and the USA. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard working individuals to take on the role of On-Call IT Support Tech within our company.

The ideal candidate works well independently as well as part of a team. Must enjoy working with technology hardware and have and an excellent ability to communicate in English and interact with clients.

This is a part-time on-call position (with the possibility of some full-time hours when available - this is NOT guaranteed) with mostly weekday hours – shifts are across the Greater Toronto Area as well as throughout Ontario. All work is done directly at client offices. We work with clients such as Uber, Sun Life Financial, Sephora, Allstate Insurance, Scotiabank, Walmart, Manulife and many other Fortune 500 companies.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Disconnecting workstation technology and getting it packed up for corporate relocations.
  • Setting up workstations in corporate offices including computers, monitors, docking stations, keyboards etc.
  • Mounting monitors onto monitor arms and adjusting cable management in sit-stand desks.
  • Installation of cable management systems and deployments of new hardware including monitors, monitor arms, docking stations and laptops.
  • Removing hard drives from old technology and preparing it for electronic recycling.
  • Assisting with installing or removing data cabling & access points in corporate offices.
  • Assisting with data center and server room moves (un-rack and re-racking servers) as well as server cable management.
  • Providing Day One onsite technical support in corporate offices after they move into a new location.
  • Running Security Evaluations on client's computers including password resets, installing anti-virus software, enabling BitLocker etc.
  • Installing communication cabinets, AP's and Network Hardware (switches, routers, firewalls etc).
  • Installing large TV's in meeting rooms.
  • Technology Cleaning
  • Working effectively with clients' team members and facilities management on the progress of project activities in a professional manner.
  • Participates in staff orientation and training as required

Qualifications Required:

- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

- Must enjoy doing hands-on work (this is not a desk job)

- Ability to pass police reference checks for jobs requiring high level security clearance.

- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and travel across Ontario as required.

- General understanding of anti-virus software on Windows 10 or 11.

- Understanding of how to enable BitLocker is an asset

- Ability to reset computer passwords is an asset

- Certification in CompTIA A+ is an asset

- For Techs who will drive company vehicles - MUST have a valid drivers license with a clean driving abstract and be at least 25 years old so you can be added as a driver on our company insurance. You must be comfortable driving a mini-van and a High-Roof Cargo Van for jobs across Ontario.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
