1. Graduate of recognized community college executive office administration or business program or equivalent
years of experience in a senior administrative assistant role 
3. Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.  Experience in communications and public relations at a corporate level would be an asset
4. Effective problem-solving abilities
5. Demonstrated customer service skills including interacting effectively with patients and families, external agencies, governmental officials, donors and vendors
6. Demonstrated proficiency with corporate computer systems including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and One Note), corporate systems such as payroll and billing software and virtual presence software such as Zoom.
7. Ability to work on own initiative, or as part of a team
8. Demonstrated effective organization and time management skills
9. Demonstrated ability to meet project and task deadlines, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

This position is temporary until January 2027. 

The Executive Assistant will provide full administrative support to the Vice President, Oncology, Site Executive Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre and Regional Vice President, Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario. This individual has accountabilities to both Hamilton Health Sciences and Cancer Care Ontario, and provides executive leadership at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, and has oversight of the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Regional Cancer Program.
 
The incumbent must be self-directed, client-focused and have demonstrated, excellent communication and administrative skills. The incumbent also facilitates the approval processes for all non-insured patient care within the Juravinski Cancer Centre.

The Juravinski Cancer Centre and Hospital (JHCC) at Hamilton Health Sciences is one of the largest research-intensive cancer centres and hospitals in Ontario and is the largest hospital in the HHS network.  Expert and compassionate cancer physicians and staff provides patient centric, evidence and research based cancer care to patients and their families.  

The Juravinski Cancer Centre and Hospital serves more than 1.7 million people in the central west Ontario region and sees more than 7,500 new patients each year.  The JHCC is home to provincially designated lead programs in hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer, gynecologic cancer and sarcoma services in addition to being one of three comprehensive hematology and cellular therapy centres in Ontario. The Juravinski is also home to specialized cancer surgery services, breast cancer screening services, expert genetic counselling, dedicated pathology and laboratory services and specialized cancer diagnostic imaging.  The Juravinski team also operates a mobile cancer screening coach, which provides a wide range of cancer screening services to under serviced areas of our region. Our teams at the Juravinski provide services to patients requiring medical, critical care, expert diagnostics, and surgical care.  The Juravinski's Orthopedic program is one of the most advanced arthroplasty and hip fracture programs in the province. 

The Juravinski team educates a wide range of health care students (including physicians, nurses, health disciplines, physicists and support staff) each year building the cancer professionals of the future. Our expert teams conduct leading edge research to discover better treatments and the cures of tomorrow.  Based in the Escarpment Cancer Research Institute (ECRI), researchers conduct clinical trials in the clinical trials department and in the Ontario Clinical Oncology Group (OCOG), collaborate with fundamental scientists in universities to conduct translational research and execute health systems research.  The research conducted at the Juravinski benefits patients and health systems across the world.

The Juravinski Cancer Centre and its leadership team is also the lead agency for Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario in this region.  It is the organization operating the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant (HNHB) Regional Cancer Program.  The Regional Cancer Program is a collaborative partnership of hospitals and agencies across the Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand, Brant, Burlington, and Norfolk region. The program leadership provides oversight of cancer care quality, system planning and innovation and is the lead agency in the region to enable the achievement of the goals of the Ontario Cancer Plan.
