Day Porter / Washroom Cleaner - Commercial Building

York Heritage Properties is looking for a dependable Washroom Cleaner / Day Porter to help keep our commercial buildings clean, safe and welcoming. This role focuses on maintaining washrooms to an exceptional standard while supporting general cleaning and building upkeep.

Span of Management

Provide building management support across all assigned York Heritage owned and/or manages properties. You may also assist as a resource at other York Heritage buildings as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of all washroom facilities, ensuring they are spotless and well-stocked.
  • Clean toilets, sinks, mirrors, and partitions; polish metal fixtures.
  • Refill supplies such as soap, toilet tissue, and paper towels throughout the day.
  • Execute general housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, mopping, garbage collection, monitoring and restocking inventory, operating housekeeping equipment.
  • Clean movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures: dust, spot clean or wash, disinfect, when necessary, polish as required.
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Report any maintenance or cleanliness issues to the Building Manager promptly.
  • Assist with light maintenance or seasonal duties as needed (e.g., snow and ice removal).
  • Remain mindful of building deficiencies or safety issues, reporting concerns to the Building Manager.
  • Assist with trade or vendor access to areas of property as directed.

Who You Are

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and proud of maintaining clean, professional spaces.
  • Experienced in commercial cleaning or janitorial work.
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Communicates clearly and courteously with tenants and building staff
