Job description:

With a customer driven focus, Novatek Welding and Fabrication is looking for a Inside Sales Estimator to provide ongoing support to our current customer base.

This position requires a professional, dynamic person whose primary responsibility will be to estimate projects from an existing client base, seek new customers and provide project updates to ensure customer satisfaction.

Primary requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, in both Imperial and Metric measurements
  • Strong communication, problem solving abilities and able to work with customer engineers/buyers to resolve any issues during the quoting process
  • Computer skills including MS Office products and estimating software (knowledge of Lantek/Solidworks/Jobboss an asset)
  • Extensive knowledge of custom metal fabrication, knowledge of machining an asset
  • Work with other staff to establish accurate costing and estimating, including delivery timing
  • Communicate with customer engineering to ensure concept to reality is achieved per customer expectations
  • Work with suppliers to gain competitive quotes for material and outsourced resources
  • Excellent English written and verbal skills
  • Submit and follow up on quotes and customer needs
  • Ability to work with tight timelines and extra hours if required
  • Responsible for contacting customers regarding new projects and actively managing the relationship with existing and new customers
  • Qualifications:
  • 2+ years estimating / inside sales experience in custom fabrication
  • Strong background in all areas of custom metal fabrication processes
  • Post secondary education in design/fabrication an asset

  • Custom Fabrication Shop: 2 years (required)
  • Inside Sales Estimating: 1 year (required)
  • SolidWorks: 1 year (required)
  • Lantek software: 1 year (preferred)
