CNC Machine Operator, Kitchener-Waterloo DAY

DAYS – Monday – Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Responsibilities include:

  • Safely operate CNC Mill or Lathe by manually loading and unloading parts.
  • Complete and document required quality checks and inspections.
  • Polish and wash any parts during cycle.
  • Correctly read blueprints and troubleshoot basic problems prior to seeking assistance from CNC Set-Up Operator or Supervisor.
  • Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability and alert CNC Set-Up Operator / Supervisor if tool wear is evident.
  • Understand when inserts need to be changed and adjust offsets as required.
  • Reset CNC machine after cycle interruption and test the machine.
  • Verify accuracy of machine settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining with advanced use of precision measuring instruments such as height gauges or indicators.
  • Clean and upkeep CNC machines and surrounding work area.
  • Ensure continuity between shifts through clear and complete documentation of actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
  • Follow quality management system policy and procedures as per ISO 9001:2015.
  • Maintain work area clean and organized, and follow health & safety rules.

Requirements:

  • Perform required functions without sacrificing production standards, quality or safety.
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
  • Advanced knowledge on use of the different precision measuring tools.
  • Good understanding of the different cutting tools used for particular processes.
  • Working knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute results to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to deal with conflict, stress and time constraints in an efficient, professional, courteous manner.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.

Physical Demands:

Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking, bending, climbing / descending / going under or on equipment as well as some physical lifting.

Regularly exposed to noise, temperature change and lubricants and vibration.

Wears all PPE as required.
