CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

1) Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling.

2) Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations.

3) Ensure the CNC machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company.

4) Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.

5) Check machinery daily to guarantee functionality. ·

6) Record all machine actions by completing production and quality logs.

7) Provide timelines to clients.

8) Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.

9) Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding and other operations.

10) Communicate logistics issues that arise in the process of creating a part.

11) Ensure that results of machining process align with client expectations.

12) Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.

13) Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

14) May set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators.

15) Conduct regular CNC machine assessments.

16) CNC Machinist Requirements:

Requirements:

1) College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma for a program of 1 year to 2 years

2) At least 1 years' experience on CNC Vertical Mill is preferred.

3) Recognized apprenticeship may be required.

4) Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.

5) Understanding of mathematics.

6) Ethical behavior.

7) Attention to details and self-motivation.

8) Basic security clearance
