What you bring to our team
As a member of the Production Team and reporting to the Production Leads, the Machine Operator is responsible for converting the required orders given to them on a daily basis in a safe and efficient manner and help us maintain our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. We are looking for motivated and reliable individuals.
About the Role
The Machine Operator will primarily operate one of JKW's flatbed press machines and equipment, work with hot melt glue, assemble components, inspect components, pack products, label shipments and ensure smooth running of the production line.
What you'll do (Including but not limited to)
- Operate machinery and equipment
- Assemble and inspect products for quality and accuracy
- Analyze the production ticket and review all notes and any related NCRs
- Verify correct material is being used and gather approval/double check
- Verify the dimensions of the First Off and ensure they meet the customers required dimensions, tolerances, as well as a visual inspection to ensure the quality meets standards using a variety of tools
- Packing the product to meet customer requirements
- Filling out the appropriate paperwork
- Print labels and package product
- Operate hand trucks and other lifting equipment
- The Operator will report any anomalies discovered during the inspection process or while operating the machine to his/her supervisor immediately
- Continually pursue production improvements to enhance quality and run times
- Clean and maintain workstations and surrounding work areas
Qualifications
- 1 year experience in a production role (Machine operator, assembly
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Physical dexterity
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Adaptable to both repetitive tasks and various tasks
- Ability to interpret drawings and follow work instructions
- Be able to perform mathematical calculations to Grade 12 level (minimum)
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Be exceptionally well organized with an acute attention to detail
- Must be a team player and collaborate and assist colleagues as needed
Preferred Requirements:
Understand and work to automotive industry quality standards and tolerances
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering
