Job Summary

Cheaters Brook Lodge is looking for a reliable Cook/Chef to prepare high-quality meals for guests throughout the summer season. This position requires someone who can confidently cook a variety of dishes for groups of up to 10 people, manage daily meal planning, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen.

You'll be responsible for breakfast, lunch, and supper seven days a week, creating hearty, home-style meals that leave a great impression on our guests. Ideal candidates have experience cooking for groups, good time-management skills, and the ability to work independently in a lodge setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision and creativity, adhering to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Assist in meal planning and menu development to meet customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
  • Serve dishes efficiently and professionally, providing excellent customer service during food service hours.
  • Handle food products safely, including proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or food service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
  • Experience with meal preparation, plating techniques, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with the food industry's best practices for quality control and customer service.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
