THE ROLE:

Our summer student program provides an opportunity to experience real-world challenges, collaborate with diverse teams, network with other students and create a vision for your future career path.

Working with our Unconventional Development Technology team in Calgary, this will be a full-time student position from May through August 2026. During your summer, you will gain exposure to the energy industry by attending sessions hosted by subject matter experts and will have an opportunity to showcase your learnings with your student network. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Provide engineering support to our commercial demonstration Carbon Capture plant operations and engineering teams, which will include operating/lab data analytics, and benchmarking simulations
  • Provide engineering support on future carbon capture optimizations, including running process simulations
  • Support the ongoing GHG Abatement Study which includes reviewing EPC contractor calculations, findings evaluations, economics, and reports

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program at a Canadian post-secondary institution, and must be returning to studies after the work term
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering preferred, with a minimum of three years of study completed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with superior Excel skills
  • Familiarity with process simulation tools, data analytics tools, and Power BI are an asset
  • The ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with your team, peers, and diverse business groups
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time and data management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
