We are seeking a hands-on
*IT Network Engineer – Field Operations*
to support our growing infrastructure and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity across our corporate offices and auction operations.

In This Role, You Will

  • Own day-to-day network operations (VLANs, SSIDs, QoS, routing, switching) using our network management stack (for example, Ubiquiti/UniFi).
  • Use our ITSM and asset management platform (FreshService) to keep tickets, CMDB, and runbooks accurate and actionable.
  • Support our auction technology programs from planning through on-site execution, ensuring the network and critical systems are ready for each event.
  • Collaborate with teams using our monitoring, endpoint, and SaaS management tools (e.g., Datadog, Hexnode MDM, SentinelOne EDR/CNAPP, Trelica) to deliver a secure and reliable environment.

You'll combine technical network work with structured IT processes (ITSM/ITAM, change control, documentation, and field execution).

We offer a competitive salary ($100, $120,000.00); paid time off; participation in our benefits, RRSP, and life insurance programs; continuous learning; an amazing culture; and so much more

What You Will Do

  • Network Operations

  • Configure, manage, and maintain network services including VLANs, SSIDs, QoS policies, routing, and switching.

  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot network equipment and Wi-Fi infrastructure using centralized management platforms (for example, Ubiquiti/UniFi).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, latency, and performance issues across corporate offices, remote locations, and auction sites.

  • Use infrastructure and network monitoring tools (for example, Datadog dashboards and UniFi controllers) to proactively detect issues and ensure availability during business operations and live auctions.

  • ITSM, CMDB & Documentation

  • Maintain and update the FreshService CMDB, ensuring that circuits, switches, access points, and other key assets are correctly mapped to sites, auction locations, and services.

  • Use FreshService to manage tickets, changes, and service requests related to network and field operations.
  • Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles and runbooks in FreshService to enable IT Support and Field Operations to self-serve common issues (e.g., "bring an auction site online," "replace an AP and update the CMDB").
  • Document network standards, diagrams, procedures, and change history so others can reliably understand and support the environment.

  • Asset & Program Management

  • Oversee and maintain network and IT spare kits (e.g., pre-configured switches, access points, cables, scanners, and peripherals) to ensure readiness for deployments and break/fix situations.

  • Track and manage hardware across locations using our IT asset management practices and tools (primarily FreshService, and where applicable, integrated views from platforms like Trelica for SaaS/contract mapping).
  • Coordinate and execute technology sign-offs for auction programs, confirming that connectivity, Wi-Fi coverage, and critical systems (including devices managed via Hexnode MDM and protected by SentinelOne) have been tested and are ready before each event.

  • Collaboration, Security & Field Support

  • Partner closely with Systems Administrators, IT Support, Security, and Field Operations to deliver seamless network experiences for staff and auction participants.

  • Work with our endpoint management and security stack (e.g., Hexnode for MDM and SentinelOne for EDR/CNAPP) to ensure devices used at sites are compliant, secure, and properly connected.
  • Provide on-site support for regional offices and auctions, including temporary network setups, Wi-Fi tuning, cutovers, and incident response during live events.

  • Travel

  • Travel up to 50% to regional offices and auction locations to support network deployments, upgrades, and live events (including occasional overnight stays).

What You Will Need

  • Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar IT infrastructure role.

  • Strong knowledge of VLANs, SSIDs, QoS, routing, and switching concepts and configurations.
  • Experience using an ITSM platform for tickets, CMDB, knowledge base, and runbooks (ideally FreshService or similar).
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across wired and wireless networks.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-driven environment with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently (including occasional overnight stays).
  • Languages: English (required), French (strongly desired)

  • Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti/UniFi or similar enterprise/SMB networking platforms (e.g., Cisco, Meraki).

  • Familiarity with auction, event-based, or temporary site technology deployments (e.g., pop-up networks, temporary Wi-Fi for events).
  • Experience with infrastructure and network monitoring tools (for example, Datadog or equivalent monitoring/observability platforms).
  • Experience working with endpoint management and security platforms (e.g., Hexnode MDM, SentinelOne EDR/CNAPP) to ensure secure, compliant devices on the network.
  • Exposure to SaaS/contract and cost management platforms (e.g., Trelica) and an understanding of how technology choices impact cost and operations.

  • Medical, Dental & Vision
  • 401k/RSP programs
  • Company paid Group Life/AD&D insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible working environment
