The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has three operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia, and Finland.

Position

Operations Executive Assistant (Temporary, 6 months)

Introduction

This position will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support to the Senior Vice President, Operations & Chief Operating Officer.

Location

This is a fixed-term position based at B2Gold's Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada, with flexible work arrangement available and the potential for extension.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reports, Presentations, and Information Management

  • Collate and review various reports and documents;
  • Format correspondence and spreadsheets after technical input is finalized;
  • Proofread and prepare presentations, including graphics;
  • Develop and maintain an efficient, accurate, and secure filing and retrieval system;
  • Collect, analyze, and produce information by way of research or other forms of information gathering;
  • Compile input and draft meeting agenda and minutes;

Coordination and Logistics

  • Work with operational staff in various jurisdictions to ensure seamless operations;
  • Book travel and accommodations for the SVP;

Meetings and Events

  • Manage calendars and schedules;
  • Arrange meetings and events and provide support at the AGM, including necessary IT support;
  • Reserve boardroom for appropriate meeting dates;

Financial and Secretarial

  • Receive calls, welcome guests, and sort and distribute mail;
  • Reconcile and perform administration of SVP's credit card;
  • Draft SVP's annual department budget and code invoices for approval;
  • Responsible for Sedi filings;
  • Run personal errands for SVP, as required;
  • Provide back-up reception support, as required; and,
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years' experience in an administrative role;
  • University Degree, College Diploma or technical certificate;
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, communication, coordination, and file management skills;
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications;
  • Ability to work well independently under minimum supervision and also collaboratively in a team setting;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill and phone etiquette; and,
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Job Demands/Physical Requirements:

  • This position is based out of our Vancouver head office with flexible work arrangement available;
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to type, sit at a desk, speak and hear.

B2Gold offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary commensurate with the candidate's experience, knowledge and skill set, and a comprehensive benefit package for employees and their eligible dependents. The base salary range for this position is CAD $86,000 – 93,000 per annum, which is the anticipated pay at the time of hire but does not reflect similar future job opportunities. Details of the total compensation package will be shared during the interview process.
