We are seeking a strategic and inspirational leader to join the ELCAN Leadership Team as Associate Director, Finance.  Reporting directly to the Site Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping ELCAN's strategy, growth, and investments while ensuring strong financial performance, robust internal controls, and building a high-performance Finance organization. 

As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will also bring strong leadership skills, deep industry knowledge, and a passion for driving business excellence in a complex and mission-critical environment. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans, providing financial insight and risk analysis to support business decisions.
• Lead investment decisions within programs, research and development, capital and site to drive innovation and build for our future.
• Facilitate critical business decisions, including direct cost accounting, pricing strategies, and comprehensive financial evaluations for defence contracts and program bids.
• Champion a high-performance culture focused on people, customer commitment, and core values aligned with strategic business objectives. 
• Act as a key liaison – alongside the Site Director – with corporate stakeholders to leverage enterprise resources and influence business success. 
• Lead all aspects of financial management, including planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting to drive both short-term results and long-term growth. 
• Develop, implement, and monitor financial control systems in accordance with government and regulatory compliance standards (e.g. ITAR, SOX).
• Support and mentor a high-performing Finance team.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.
• Serve as a liaison with external auditors, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Uphold a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and financial discipline.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in aerospace, defence, or a similarly regulated industry.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, government contracting regulations, and internal control frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience building and leading high-impact teams.
• Proven ability to manage complexity in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Midland, Ontario, Canada. Remote work is not available.
