Job Description
The HR Business Partner will provide day-to-day support to the HR Manager and assist with supporting corporate and plant client groups. This is a development role and will provide a great deal of opportunity for learning and professional growth.

Job Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support, data analysis, and reporting to the HR Manager
- Providing day-to-day support to employees
- Conducting new hire onboarding and regulatory training
- Maintaining employee records in Workday
- Assist HR leadership in HR communications, program and policy rollout, and tracking training and compliance requirements.
- Manage daily employee inquiries, prepare official correspondence, and address questions concerning compensation, benefits, policies, and other employment-related matters.
- Support the implementation of HR policies and ensure adherence through consistent interpretation and enforcement of established procedures.
- Coordinate the recruitment process for hourly positions, including interviewing and facilitating the hiring of qualified candidates; collaborate closely with departmental managers to assess required skills and competencies.
- Conduct or coordinate background checks, and employee eligibility verifications.
- Conduct thorough new employee orientations to facilitate a seamless onboarding process.
- Partner effectively with Payroll, Benefits Team, and Managers/Supervisors to oversee leave of absence and return-to-work procedures, ensuring compliance and preparing necessary documentation.
- Actively contribute to and participate in Group HR projects as required.
- Assist in organizing and executing engagement and wellness initiatives, recognition events and company social events and activities.
- Partner with business unit leaders to understand their objectives and provide strategic HR support and guidance.
- Contribute to employee relations efforts, including conducting investigation and facilitating conflict resolution meetings and training.
- Support talent management initiatives, coaching leaders to create effective performance improvement and development plans.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines that support corporate objectives.
- Manage exit interview process and provide analysis and follow up to improve areas of concern.
- Ensure accessibility to employees, gather feedback, and contribute ideas to enhance employee satisfaction and improve organizational culture.
Qualifications
- A college diploma or university degree, specializing in Human resources is preferred
- 3-5 years' experience working in Human Resources
- Working towards CHRP designation is preferred
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to multi task and effectively manage rapidly changing priorities
- Understanding and knowledge of ESA in Ontario, Human Rights Code, and OHSA
- Proficient in MS Office
- Some travel may be required
- Experience working in a manufacturing and/or union environment is preferred
- Proven experience in leading HR projects and initiatives.
- Excellent communication, coaching and influencing abilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into effective HR solutions.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
