Job Description
AECOM is looking for a Project Coordinator to join the Markham Buildings + Places team. This position is for a newly created position.
Mandatory Security Clearance Requirements
Applicants must hold OR be eligible to obtain:
- Reliability Status clearance (minimum)
- Secret clearance (required for most projects)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have lived in Canada for the past 5 years (Reliability) or 10 years (Secret)
- Clearances are granted by the Contract Security Program (CSP), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC)
Major Responsibilities
- Provide project coordination/control and review designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements
- Support project managers with routine and non-routine tasks
- Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetings
- Monitor project costs and budgets
- Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports
- Prepare and/or review documents (drawings, reports, contractor shop drawings, etc.)
- Act as liaison between third parties and client
- Prepare project schedules and monitor progress of work
- Review and compile client submittals
- Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced project manager
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in the engineering or architecture field two (2) of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education
- Must be able to obtain or hold valid security clearance of reliability and/or secret (see Security
- Obtaining clearance must be made in a reasonable amount of time to work on projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years project coordination experience with buildings
- Project management experience would be an asset
- Design and/or review of engineering plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interacts with clients in a professional manner
- Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Able to work well under pressure
- Detail oriented, adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads
- Self-starter, ability to multi-task
