Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate and program CNC equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering specifications. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD and SolidWorks, and the ability to interpret blueprints. The CNC Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring high-quality production through precise machining and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
- Set up, operate, and program CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to produce accurate components
- Perform CNC programming adjustments to optimize machining processes
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to ensure parts meet specifications
- Maintain machine calibration and perform routine maintenance for optimal performance
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or modifications
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Assist with material handling using forklifts when necessary
- Conduct quality checks throughout the machining process to ensure compliance with standards
- Document production activities accurately and report any machine issues or defects
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes and tooling
- Proficiency in CNC programming, particularly with Fanuc controls
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models using SolidWorks or similar software
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
- Experience with calipers, hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques is preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and manufacturing standards
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment following all safety protocols
- Prior experience with lean manufacturing practices is a plus
- Valid forklift certification or experience is advantageous
