Overview

Cheelcare is seeking a 
detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator
 to support lean procurement systems that ensure smooth, uninterrupted production flow.

Guided by the 
Toyota Production System (TPS)
 — including 
Just-in-Time (JIT)
 delivery, 
Kanban control
, and 
continuous improvement (Kaizen)
 — this role focuses on maintaining accurate purchasing data, tracking inventory levels, and coordinating material replenishment to ensure parts are available exactly when needed.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Coordination

  • Create and process purchase orders based on Kanban demand signals, MRP data, and production schedules.
  • Confirm delivery dates, quantities, and order details with suppliers as directed by the purchasing team.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and delivery records in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Communicate updates on order status, delays, or changes to the production and inventory teams.

Kanban & Toyota Production System Support

  • Maintain and update 
    Kanban systems
     (digital or physical) to support timely material replenishment.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to adjust Kanban card quantities and reorder points as usage data changes.
  • Apply 
    TPS principles
     to support waste reduction and streamline material flow.
  • Participate in 
    Kaizen
     and 
    5S
     activities aimed at improving efficiency in purchasing and inventory management.
  • Track and report on key material flow indicators such as lead times and stock availability.

Inventory Control & Forecasting

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock is available to support production requirements.
  • Track part consumption and update system data to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system inventory.
  • Support analysis of inventory usage trends and assist in forecasting material requirements.

Process & System Support

  • Maintain accuracy of purchasing and inventory information within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support the use of 
    digital tools
     for Kanban tracking, part alerts, and purchase order visibility.
  • Help develop and maintain 
    visual management systems
     that clearly show order status, stock levels, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that material planning aligns with production takt time and build schedules.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in 
    Supply Chain Management

    Business Administration
    , or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in 
    purchasing coordination, procurement administration, or inventory control
     in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with 
    Lean Manufacturing, TPS, and Kanban systems
     (training provided if not yet certified).
  • Experience with 
    ERP/MRP systems
     and basic data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
