Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing exceptional administrative support in a busy medical or dental office environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong office experience, familiarity with electronic medical records, and excellent communication skills. The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for managing patient interactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner at the front desk
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
  • Assist with electronic medical records management using platforms such as Epic and Dentrix
  • Verify patient information and update medical or dental records accurately
  • Prepare and organize patient charts, forms, and documentation for appointments
  • Collect insurance information and process billing or payments as needed
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability
  • Support administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Assistant preferred
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records systems such as Epic or Dentrix is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology and Dental Terminology
  • Experience working with multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced office setting
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Office experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining professionalism
