Whistler Vacation Homes Ltd. is one of Whistler's most innovative vacation rental management companies ). We manage over 70 premium vacation rental properties and are a growing company that is seeking a comprehensive Operations Manager. The job will entail an assortment of operational processes, from overseeing maintenance/home-care items to receiving and managing any potential issues from guests. This will include, communicating directly with guests (receiving phone calls, emails or texts), along with our internal staff, outside contractors, and various other individuals/companies that we work with. A portion of this role will also require the chosen candidate to assist with "on the ground tasks" at the properties we manage, sometimes on short notice. Therefor, it is imperative the candidate lives in Whistler and has their own vehicle.

The majority of this job will be done from your computer or cellphone. The actual amount of hours spent working week to week will be lower than any standard full time job, however you will be expected to be available to respond to phone calls and emails - including on evenings, weekends and holidays. You need to be comfortable being on-call and ready to troubleshoot any issues at a moments notice, but for the large majority of the time you will have a lot of freedom with your schedule and can work wherever you are. Somewhat flexible start time for this new role pending candidate availability.

We are looking for a reliable and self-motivated person to primarily assist with handling any guest emergencies/higher level questions/general issues or maintenance issues although the chosen candidate will also help with weekly administrative tasks, improving internal efficiencies & operations.

Must be computer and smart-phone literate. We use phone applications and Microsoft Office/Excel/Google Sheets etc. Competency or willingness to learn excel is a must.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, who has a passion and knack for hospitality and customer service, a strong attention to detail, and is available/quick to respond via computer or cell phone in a timely manner when required.

This employment opportunity will allow the chosen candidate to have a ton of flexibility in where they work from most days, but being available and responsive when issues arise is essential.

Duties:

  • Communicate with guests, answer any pressing questions, assist with maintenance issues and other operational items.

  • Effectively communicate between the WVH team, guests, maintenance staff, contractors etc. Having the ability to think on your feet, while being organized and diligent in making sure all issues are resolved from start to finish will be expected.

  • Miscellaneous weekly administrative duties & operational processes
