Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time, on-site role for a Medical Office Assistant located in White Rock, BC. The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for tasks such as phone etiquette, appointment scheduling, medical terminology usage, health coverage verification, and administrative assistance. This role supports the daily operations of the clinic, ensuring an efficient and effective patient experience.
Qualifications
- Strong phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills
- Competency in appointment scheduling and calendar management
- Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of healthcare procedures
- Proficiency in insurance verification processes and liaising with insurance providers
- General administrative skills, including filing, data entry, and handling correspondence
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus
- Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program preferred; however, candidates with relevant clinical or administrative experience are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in a family or general practice clinic preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively in a growing clinic environment
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Oscar Pro experience preferred)
