Job Description:

Fanshawe College is seeking interested and qualified professionals to teach in the Donald J. Smith School of Building and Design.

The Donald J. Smith School of Building and Design is looking for qualified part-time professors to teach courses in the following areas:

  • 456A Welding: Demonstrated specialization in metallurgy, robotic and virtual welding
  • 309A/442A Electrical Post-Secondary & Apprenticeship: Demonstrated specialization and interest in digital electronics, network cabling and electrical theory
  • Residential Energy Management, Sustainable land use planning
  • Math for trades and technology
  • Civil Engineering: Survey specialists, practical knowledge of ArchGIS, computer operations and statistics

Note: These are part-time Faculty positions (up to 6 hours per week) starting January 7th, 2026 and ending April 17th, 2026.

Specific Qualifications:


• Demonstrated expertise in the above specialties


• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the minimum education requirements


• Demonstrated interpersonal skill suited to working closely with peers, community partners and/or businesses to provide practical student projects.


• Proficiency with technical and online learning are assets


• Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and leading innovation

General Qualifications:


• Post-secondary degree/diploma/journeyperson in related field


• Minimum of 5 years of recent and relevant experience


• Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners


• Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies (LMS) are an asset


• Related industry work experience
