The Painter performs routine and preventative maintenance painting duties to maintain the internal and external structures of the resort.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Team

  • Willingness to accept the most effective role.
  • Maintains the building interior and exterior, including cabinets, doors, windows, furniture, trim, siding, railings, balconies, and other structural elements.
  • Prepares surfaces for finishing by washing, scraping, sanding, or sandblasting as needed.
  • Mixes, matches, and blends paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings to achieve specified colour, consistency, and drying properties.
  • Fills holes and cracks using caulk, putty, cement, or plaster.
  • Applies paint, stain, varnish, or protective coatings to buildings, structures, equipment, and furniture using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other applicators.
  • Prepares and installs wallpaper or other wall coverings.
  • Cleans and properly stores tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring the worksite remains tidy and safe.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe workplace by understanding and adhering to the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Close with an open mentality.
  • Keep all areas in like-new condition and website ready.

Guest

  • Ensure guests are greeted and acknowledged consistently, adhering to the 10/5 Rule.
  • Communicate with guests in a professional and friendly manner.

Financial

  • Protecting company assets by adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Conducts visual inspections of the lodge to identify required services and repairs, and estimates the time and materials needed to complete them.

Qualifications & Traits

  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial painting experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in operating various equipment and machinery, including paint application tools.
  • Skilled in following mixing formulas and preparing paints to required specifications.
  • Demonstrates manual dexterity and physical ability to perform tasks such as overhead lifting, twisting, bending, climbing ladders and stairs, wearing PPE, working in confined spaces, and repetitive arm movements.
  • Adheres to all safety programs and maintains a safe work environment in compliance with applicable regulations, including Ergonomics, Emergency Response, Injury and Illness Prevention, and Hazard Communication standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of walking, standing, crawling, bending, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching/squatting, and kneeling.
  • Capable of climbing ladders up to 16' tall and multiple flights of stairs, up to 90 steps at a time, multiple times a day.
  • Dexterity of the fingers and hands with ability to squeeze hands, twist and rotate wrists and elbows.
  • Ability to work outdoors as needed, in all weather conditions year-round.
  • Capable of working at heights and in tight spaces.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 70lbs.

Additional Requirements

Newly hired Pack Members must submit a completed police clearance to Human Resources.
