The role of Track Monitors and Marshals is crucial for creating a safe and enjoyable experience for go-kart enthusiasts while maintaining the integrity of the facility's operations. Their primary responsibility is to monitor the track during go-kart sessions, enforce safety regulations, and assist in case of incidents.
Responsibilities:
Safety Enforcement:
● Ensure all participants adhere to safety rules and regulations.
● Monitor and control the flow of go-karts on the track to prevent unsafe driving behavior.
● Instruct participants on proper safety procedures and kart operation.
Incident Response:
● Respond promptly to any accidents, collisions, or breakdowns on the track.
● Implement safety protocols in an emergency or when a kart needs assistance.
● Assist participants in distress or requiring technical support.
Customer Assistance:
● Assist customers with questions, concerns, or technical difficulties.
● Ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Communication:
● Maintain effective communication with other track monitors, facility staff, and participants.
● Use hand signals or communication devices to convey instructions or warnings to go-kart drivers.
Rules Enforcement:
● Enforce track rules and regulations consistently.
● Identify and address any violations of safety guidelines or improper conduct.
Equipment Inspection:
● Conduct pre-session inspections of go-karts to ensure they are in proper working condition.
● Report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team for immediate attention.
Track Maintenance:
● Assist in routine track maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting barriers, signage, and track surfaces.
● Report any maintenance needs or hazards promptly.
Training:
● Provide basic orientation and safety briefings for new go-kart participants.
● Offer guidance to inexperienced drivers on track etiquette and driving techniques.
Requirements
● Strong understanding of go-kart operations and safety procedures.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
● Physical fitness and agility to respond quickly to on-track incidents.
● Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is a plus.
● Previous experience in a similar role or knowledge of motorsports is beneficial.
