A Term Adjunct position is open at the Smith School of Business for an instructor to teach a graduate course in the Executive Master of Business Administration National Program. The position is to teach the Global Virtual Teams course (MBUS Global virtual teams (GVTs) are the primary means through which multinational organizations organize to meet the needs of the globalized marketplace. Members of GVTs must overcome the traditional challenges of teamwork while also tackling the added difficulties of societal cultural differences, geographical/temporal differences, and technological differences The successful applicant will be required to develop the teaching material and teach 100% of one (1) section of MBUS 890 with an anticipated enrollment of approximately 80 students.
The course is described as follows:Global virtual teams (GVTs) are the primary means through which multinational organizations organize to meet the needs of the globalized marketplace. Members of GVTs must overcome the traditional challenges of teamwork while also tackling the added difficulties of societal cultural differences, geographical/temporal differences, and technological differences. To meet and overcome these challenges, GVT members need to learn about the ways to work effectively across their differences and distance so as to become high-performing teams. As such, this course provides students with an overview of the key knowledge base and skills necessary to be successful working in GVTs, both for career success and for the EMBA global business project.
CompensationThe salary for a term adjunct teaching one section of a course in our graduate programs is $13,252.00, which excludes vacation pay and lieu of benefits pay. This salary is pro-rated based on course credit.
Qualifications include: A Master's degree or PhD., several years of familiarity and experience in strategic marketing and experience teaching similar university courses. Industry leadership in a related field is valued.
