Agilus is hiring a
Regional Land Representative
on behalf of our client in the Oil & Gas industry.
Are you driven by the challenge of land management and community engagement? This field-based opportunity offers a chance to work hands-on with landowners, local authorities, and regulatory bodies to support responsible land use across a vital infrastructure corridor in British Columbia.
Role Overview
As the Regional Land Representative, you'll serve as the primary liaison for landowners and land users throughout the Sumas region. Your work will focus on negotiating land access, resolving concerns, and managing a diverse portfolio of land-related files. This role plays a key part in supporting the acquisition, development, and stewardship of land interests tied to infrastructure operations and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with landowners, land users, and municipal contacts.
- Negotiate access agreements and resolve claims, concerns, and damage prevention matters.
- Respond to stakeholder inquiries and ensure alignment with project timelines and commitments.
- Prepare and manage correspondence related to land interests and regulatory obligations.
- Share project updates and public awareness materials with landowners and communities.
- Provide guidance on land use planning and secure land rights for special initiatives.
- Coordinate with field operations and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication.
- Research tenure information and facilitate follow-up actions as needed.
Qualifications
- Possess a university-level degree (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce), a Diploma in Urban Land Economics (BC), a Land Agent License (Alberta), or a minimum of 10 years of equivalent industry experience
- Valid provincial driver's license.
- Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience with Indigenous lands, permitting processes, and proximity permit issues.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CER, BCER, and AER.
- Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary project environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and land/project management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical mindset with practical problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and capable of managing competing priorities under pressure.
Additional Information
- Flexibility to support occasional work outside regular hours or on weekends.
- Regular travel within the region, with some overnight stays (5–10%).
- This role requires the successful candidate will need to reside in/relocate to Abbotsford, Chilliwack, or Hope, British Columbia.
