Borough Bar & Grill is a high-performing restaurant known for polished service, thoughtful food and beverage, and a lively, friendly atmosphere. We balance genuine hospitality with operational excellence, and we're looking for a General Manager who thrives in a leadership role where community, culture, and strong financial results all matter.

The Role

The General Manager will lead all day-to-day operations, inspire a strong service culture, and drive both guest experience and profitability. This role requires a blend of hands-on leadership, high emotional intelligence, and sharp business acumen. You'll be the person setting the tone: warm, professional, and always moving the restaurant forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing FOH management team and staff
  • Maintain a polished yet approachable level of service that reflects the Borough brand
  • Oversee scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management
  • Uphold compliance with all health, safety, and employment standards
  • Manage budgets, labour controls, COGS, inventory, and financial reporting
  • Drive sales through service execution, community engagement, and local marketing
  • Build a positive culture focused on accountability, communication, and guest connection
  • Partner closely with the Chef & operations team on strategic planning
  • Ensure smooth daily operations and strong on-floor presence, especially during peak periods

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of restaurant GM or AGM experience in a high-volume, polished-casual or upscale environment
  • Proven ability to lead teams in $2–5M annual revenue operations
  • Strong financial literacy: labour management, P&L analysis, inventory control
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • A hands-on, people-first leadership style
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000+ total compensation (salary, gratuity + performance-based bonuses)
