Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. The Dump Truck Driver will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects and maintaining our high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently to transport materials, including dirt, gravel, asphalt, and other construction materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload materials as required, ensuring proper weight distribution for safe transport.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and materials transported.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding safety procedures.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks on the truck as needed, including checking fluid levels and performing minor automotive repairs.
- Operate forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary to facilitate loading and unloading processes.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving or heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate forklifts is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for basic automotive repair tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading materials.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
