With the continued growth of our business, we are seeking to hire a Manufacturing Lead Hand" to join our Production team on the afternoon shift.

Manufacturing Lead Hand - Duties & Responsibilities:

Before and During Machine Set Up:

  • Perform or arrange training for new employees and trainees.
  • Ensure that only trained operators are working with machines, or that trainees are under supervision sufficient to their level of training.
  • Ensure that all operators are wearing required personal protective equipment required for the task that they are assigned to.
  • Check the product run specs and notify operators of any special instructions.
  • Inform the operators of what the expected goals (Capsules, tablets per hour) for the run are, as per the times listed on the work order time sheet.
  • Get the work order from the production office, in the order of the production schedule, unless instructed otherwise by the area Supervisor.
  • Print out the product pallet SSCC tags, labels etc. for the order.
  • Check the packaging list/pick ticket to make sure that everything matches the work order and have the Operator check and sign off as well.

During Run:

  • Know what your Production Run Time (capsules, tablets per minute) goals are before starting a run.
  • Monitor areas to assure goals are achievable, assisting, and coaching operators as required, helping trouble shoot as required, ensuring a timely recovery from machine or product issues for an efficient run.
  • Ensure operators are in position and working in their designated area.
  • Ensure that operators are wearing required PPE for the job.
  • Ensure that operators have the product and materials staged outside their rooms to continue runs. Remove empty boxes to cardboard station, ensure that the area hallway does not become cluttered or blocked.
  • Assist in making boxes when required to supply operators running bulk products.
  • Transfer finished skids of product to the warehouse staging area for pick up.
  • Make sure the paperwork is filled in as the room runs (real time entries).
  • Communicate with the Supervisor any machine issues that may prevent the run from completing in the allotted time.

Completion/Clean Up:

  • Ensure paperwork is complete and correct. Check that all sign offs are done by operator and initial completion.
  • Transfer finished product skids and return materials to the warehouse staging area.
  • Assist in any area as needed for clean up.
  • Ensure that cleanup has been done correctly and sign off, arrange for QC to sign for room cleanliness.
  • Arrange for QC to swab the room post probiotic runs, prior to the next machine set up.
  • Post work orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The position requires the individual to:

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Work efficiently within timelines and deadlines.
  • Adapt in a changing environment.
  • To be physically fit, with the ability to stand and move for an extended period of time.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

NOTE: This position works with dusty powders; respirators and masks are provided for your safety.

Shift available - Monday to Friday – 2:15pm to 10:30pm

Hourly rate: $21.48 plus .50 per hour premium for afternoon shift.
