Position Overview
Allied Universal is seeking a highly observant and detail-oriented
Security Guard – Control Room
to support security operations at a busy commercial site in
Guildford, Surrey, BC
. Working from the control room, you will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, managing access control points, responding to alarms, and supporting dispatch coordination.
As a Security Guard- Control Room you are required to have
strong communication skills
,
technical competency
, and the ability to remain calm, alert, and responsive throughout your shift. Your performance will directly contribute to the safety of guests, tenants, and the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV, access control systems, and life safety alarms from the control room
- Conduct virtual patrols and monitor multiple screens for unusual activity
- Dispatch mobile or foot patrol officers to incidents or areas of concern
- Log all security-related activities using digital reporting tools
- Respond quickly to alarms and coordinate with emergency responders when needed
- Control access to restricted areas and issue visitor passes as required
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with field personnel via radio or phone
- Follow all emergency and site-specific procedures for escalations and safety responses
- Report technical issues with monitoring equipment or systems promptly
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid BC Security Worker License
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient with computers, video surveillance software, and digital reporting tools
- Previous experience in a control room, monitoring, or dispatch role is an asset
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and situational awareness
