Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Care (DOC) with a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) background to lead and oversee care operations within our organization. This pivotal role involves managing care teams, developing innovative programs, and fostering meaningful relationships with individuals with developmental disabilities. The DOC will champion quality care delivery, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a positive, supportive environment for both staff and clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve while demonstrating strong leadership and program management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise care teams, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high standards of service delivery.
  • Lead and oversee all clinical and care services
  • Ensure compliance with RHRA legislation and inspections
  • Oversee resident assessments, care plans, and admissions
  • Support dementia care and responsive behaviours using best practices
  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing and care staff
  • Oversee medication management, IPAC, and documentation

Qualifications

  • Valid registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with relevant licensing authorities.
  • Proven management experience in healthcare or social services environments, preferably working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong background in supervising multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to build rapport with clients, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, administrative oversight, and operational planning.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and social work practices related to developmental disabilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
