WHERE YOU COME IN

We are looking for a Manager, Community Partnerships (48 Hour Ride) to join our team at Make-A-Wish Canada. In this role, you will drive revenue growth primarily by planning and executing our largest event in Quebec, the 48 Hour Ride, in partnership with an external event producer. You will also support other first-party and third-party fundraising events and campaigns when capacity permits. The role builds and stewards relationships with donors, partners, vendors, and volunteers, supporting regional engagement.

This role is based in Montreal and is a full-time, hybrid, permanent position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • In partnership with external Event Producer, develop strategies to meet targeted revenue for the 48-Hour Ride event, contributing to the organization's overall fundraising goals.
  • Support other community and third-party event fundraisers as required.
  • Work collaboratively with senior volunteers to identify prospective sponsors and participants within and outside MAWC's existing network.
  • In conjunction with the Brand and Integrated Marketing team, identify event needs and assist in creating the necessary collateral for both printed and digital requirements.
  • Grow and maintain ongoing relationships with current and past donors.
  • Meticulously document event activity, including revenue and expenses.
  • Use the Make-A-Wish database to recruit and manage volunteers and wish families as required for events.
  • Participate in planning and implementation meetings across multiple departments.
  • Plan and execute post-event recognition and stewardship programs.
  • Act as a representative for MAWC by conducting presentations at various meetings and events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Post-secondary education in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or equivalent combination of training, education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in events management and execution.
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or charitable organization preferred.
  • Strong understanding of event planning, sponsorship cultivation, and donor stewardship.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak to large groups and in front of the public or local media.
  • Access to reliable transportation to and from the office, as well as for attendance at events, donor meetings, and for other local needs.
  • A clear Criminal Background Check will be required.

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid work model, with 2 days in-office per week and 3 days remote. Regular travel to local event venues and donor/sponsor locations may be required. Occasional evening and weekend work may also be required.

Physical/Mental Effort

  • Work under pressure of tight deadlines, balancing high volume workload, and with multiple demands and changing priorities.
  • Physical activity may be required during event setup/takedown.
