Director of Business Development – Retail Sales

Dorfin is seeking a Director of Business Development, Retail Sales to support the continued growth of the organization. This role plays a key part in identifying and developing new business opportunities within the retail market, while actively driving sales growth and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the retail sales team's performance while developing and managing pricing strategies, ensuring price lists remain accurate, competitive, and supportive of revenue growth.
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the retail market, including new accounts and selling opportunities.
  • Drive sales growth through new product listings, expanded assortments, and incremental programs.
  • Prepare and deliver business proposals, lead negotiations, and close commercial agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive activity.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Track opportunities, sales forecasts, and performance results.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in retail sales or business development.
  • Proven ability to identify and execute new growth opportunities.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian retail market is considered an asset.
