Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, including experience in commercial settings. This role requires proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, as well as the ability to work with various hand and power tools. The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Work with low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during electrical installations.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction and renovation projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including low voltage applications.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics related to electrical work.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools commonly used in the trade.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
  • Previous maintenance person experience is advantageous but not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
