Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team for a project in Saint john, New Brunswick, providing expert electrical services across various construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Residential and commercial electrical systems, with a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards. This role involves working on construction sites, interpreting schematics, and performing installations and repairs that meet high-quality standards. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters, and possess the ability to read blueprints and schematics. A background in low voltage and high voltage systems, along with familiarity with NEC regulations, is essential.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on construction sites, including industrial and commercial facilities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, and high voltage systems in compliance with NEC standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to diagnose electrical issues and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Assist in renovation projects by updating or replacing existing electrical infrastructure while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other trades such as frame carpentry and general contractors during construction or renovation projects.
- Follow all safety procedures related to electrical work, including working around high voltage systems safely.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and quality assurance purposes.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician license or certification.
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of NEC regulations.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites, including renovation projects.
- Proficiency with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage systems.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures for working around high voltage environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Additional skills such as maintenance person experience or frame carpentry are considered a plus but are not required. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your technical skills while contributing to safe and reliable electrical installations across various settings.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $37.50-$45.00 per hour
