Overview:
An automotive company is seeking a Powertrain Controls Engineer to support the development of supervisory charging and discharging algorithms for next-generation electrified vehicles. This role involves designing, validating, and optimizing control strategies while working closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the definition and design of energy management and high-voltage charging control algorithms
- Drive best practices in control system design and implementation
- Lead verification activities for control algorithms using MIL, HIL, subsystem, and vehicle testing
- Define and simulate charging control use cases to support development and validation
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the high-voltage energy management domain to support functional objectives and requirements
Requirements:
- Onsite role in Windsor, Ontario
- Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5–8 years of related experience, or a PhD with 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Strong foundation in control theory and optimization techniques
- Hands-on experience using MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm development
- Solid understanding of electrified powertrain systems
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive mindset and ability to work effectively within a global team
