Matchbox Consulting Group is partnering with an award winning, local construction company for a Human Resources Advisor based in the heart of Downtown Vancouver.
What You'll Do
The HR Advisor is a trusted partner to leaders and employees, providing practical and strategic human resources support across the organization. Operating in the fast-paced and project-based industry, this role balances day-to-day HR activities with longer-term initiatives that strengthen our people and culture.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can adapt to shifting priorities, provide sound advice on employee relations, and help leaders build high-performing project teams. The HR Advisor will play a key role in aligning HR practices with business objectives and fostering a workplace culture that reflects our values.

HR Manager
position, with increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities as you grow with the organization.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain HR systems, employee records, and reporting with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, health & safety requirements, and organizational policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and policies.
- Facilitates onboarding activities and conducts exit interviews and related activities as part of the off-boarding process
- Liaise with external counsel on legal matters as required
Talent Management
- Support the recruitment process, partnering closely with hiring managers to attract top talent across technical and corporate functions
- Work with managers to foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports career growth and development, retention, and performance
- Bring a learning mindset that enables the design and delivery of development programs that support employee growth
- Collaborate with teams to identify skill gaps and create strategies to address them
Performance & Learning
- Coordinate performance review processes, providing guidance to managers and employees.
- Support training and development initiatives, including tracking participation and feedback.
- Identify areas where learning opportunities can enhance leadership, team collaboration, and technical expertise.
People & Culture Development
- Champion initiatives that strengthen company culture, employee engagement, and inclusion.
- Assist with the rollout of programs that support recognition, employee well-being, and career development.
- Act as a culture ambassador, ensuring that HR processes reinforce core values and a positive employee experience.
Business Partnership
- Be a trusted advisor to leaders and managers, providing guidance on short and long-term business needs, employee relations, performance management, team dynamics, and organizational effectiveness
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with managers and employees
- Provide support and coaching to managers and employees as required
Other
- Perform other duties as required
What You'll Bring
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
- 3 - 5 years as an HR professional in progressively more responsible roles
- Proven track record of success in employee data management, benefits administration, HRIS (experience with ADP an asset)
- Able to build and maintain trusting relationships internally and externally, and establish credibility at all levels of the organization
- Ability to identify developmental needs of employees and to provide coaching, mentoring, and other help
- Comfortable and competent in delivering presentations and facilitating workshops as required
- Knowledge of current employment law and compliance requirements
- Experience in the AEC industry is an asset
- CPHR designation is an asset
